One reason on why homelessness is a moral issue is because homelessness violates The Principle of Human Dignity because we treat the homeless with disrespect for who they are what they have done to become homeless. The Principle of Human Dignity is one of the Ten Building Blocks of Catholic Social Teachings. This principle explains that every human on earth is created in the likeness of god and that everyone should be treated with respect despite of race, sex, age ,economic status, nationality, etc. The homeless are affected by this negatively because even though they're human, they're still treated like trash. “ Its is not what you do or what you have that gives you a claim on respect; it is simply being human that establishes your dignity.” (Catholic social teaching packet).
