The first thing that impressed me immensely is a quite unusual museum format. Instead of halls, filled with ancient historical artifacts, I saw the unique interactive exhibits that are based on high-tech, dedicated to two main themes: the dynamics of racism and racial prejudice in America and the history of the Holocaust - an extreme example of man's inhumanity to man. Unfortunately, globalization paves the way to ethnic conflict and racial intolerance. I think for the prevention and overcoming of such conflicts must be handled to the historical experience of mankind, to analyze the causes and mechanisms of the last conflicts, the result of which became the genocide and war crimes.
The Museum Tolerance not only shows but also teaches. I fully learned what is the Holocaust, and what threats for the world carry the manifestations of intolerance. The tragic history of the Jewish people shook me. Despite the fact, that it was very sad, this is the most inspiring place I have visited. The tour was self-guided and I went in groups. I went through various exhibits - paced with the Audio/Visual guides that lead me through each group of exhibits. That was very thoughtful and educational, and exciting.
This experience fits in with the discussions and subject of the class. A visit to the Museum of Tolerance gave me understanding and a new perspective on contemporary issues of intolerance. He helped to realize one of the major catastrophes of the XX century - the Holocaust. This is the historical event that changed the world, has called into question its moral principles, dehumanized society, has led many people to think differently and live differently. Now I know I have changed as
