This exam was on two chapters of psychology, one concerning the development of psychology as a field, and the other concerning research methods and ethics in psychology. One hundred percent of my grade in this class is based on my performance on exams, and the exams are exclusively multiple choice. This material is relatively simple and straightforward, so didn’t put much long-term effort toward studying it. One method I used was studying with Jade. We quizzed each other on the the material to solidify our knowledge. Group study is a method I used in high school, with great success for history and social science topics, and very limited success for math and chemistry. For more difficult topics in the future, I would like to try out the spaced repetition method of memorizing information, which is a scientifically-based, highly efficient way to review information so that it enters one’s long-term memory. In addition to this, for linguistics, I intend to use practice problems as one of my principal means of studying. Before my midterm exam, I want to have completed nearly every problem in my textbook at least once, so I am able to face what will come my way on the exam. This is a technique that I used extensively for math and science in high school, and I believe I have perfected
