Which, in my state, is the second largest employer second only to tourism as we are home to Disney World and other attractions amid our fields of citrus, the thoroughbred horse, caladium, and fern capitals of the world, and countless other farms and ranches. The abundant presence and job security of agriculture are just perks that come with following my passion, which I call something by the name of “agvocating” for agriculture. My experiences in agricultural education programs in school and as extracurriculars along with my respect and passion for the industry has led me to choose a career within it, by majoring in Agricultural Education and Communications in college and then serving as a communications professional and eventually as an agriculture education instructor like the one I had in middle school to educate the public in …show more content…
It may have taken me awhile to realize agriculture is my passion after my interests as a young child, but I am glad that my own middle school agriculture teacher was able to spark this passion within me and inspire me to pursue this path. Agriculture may be dirty, hard work, not be as fun as being an astronaut, or meaningless to many, but it has become a life meaning to me and I hope to one day repay the industry the impact it has and will continue to have upon me in the future through having an impact on it using the skills that I already have and those that I will gain in college while agvocating for sustainable
