Narcissism
There is nothing worse than waking up every day just to deal with poor leadership. According to Kinicki & Fugate (2016), individuals with a narcissistic trait have inflated views of themselves, and enjoy being in control of everything. In the military, I have worked under these types of leaders and I could not wait to go home at the end of the day. Furthermore, my supervisors started to mimic that same exact leadership style due to the influence and pressure they felt to produce results. According to Nichols (2016), dominance will be a trait of a highly effective leader. The dominance mentioned pertains to strong leadership and holding subordinates accountable. Of course, some leaders take that dominance to the extreme by leading with a narcissistic approach.

Additionally, some change can be beneficial to an organization. “If a leader wants a healthy culture sometimes they must change the structure” (Fischer, n.d). Leaders can use change to remove poor practices that hinder an organization. However, change can also bring stress due to poor planning and a lack of communication. I often forget to pray when I am stressed because God is there to hear our needs. “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6-7, KJV).
