The man is getting ready to eat his lunch but had forgot about doing something this whole time. “He had forgotten to build a fire to warm himself.” The man had been worrying about the cold and his face and fingers were numb but he had completely forgot that he could build a fire. Towards the end, the man is getting weaker, he has almost lost all feeling in his body. The severe cold temperatures are slowly causing his body to shut down.“ His wet feet froze first. His bare fingers were numb, although they had not yet begun to freeze. Nose and face were already freezing, while the skin of all his body became cold as it lost its blood.” His body is shutting down, blood flow to his skin had stopped as his body was doing everything it could to try and keep his vital organs warm.
