According to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics book, (NASW) Code of Ethics is intended to serve as a guide to the everyday professional conduct of social workers. The NASW Code of Ethics is designed to provide an overview of the code’s main functions and a brief guide for dealing with ethical issues or dilemmas in social work practice. There are several codes of ethics that might be a dilemma to social work professionals; however, I will be expounding on unethical conduct of colleagues.

In today’s society one is forced to see and pretends not to see or hear but play deaf; especially, if that individual is raise in a community surrounded by gangs and gang violence. In some parts of my country of birth Jamaica, one was forced to play a blind eye in exchange of safety, comfort or even life. These are simply some of the reasons I believe unethical conduct of colleagues would be a dilemma for me.
Unethical conduct of colleagues would definitely pose a challenge for me, not because I fear not being accepted or viewed as one of the societal terms but more so my dislike for negative confrontations or hostile situations or environments. I understand that ignoring unethical behavior or practices can result in losing my license to practice; however, I hope that wherever I am employed in future, my colleagues and I will make ethical conduct and practices one of our main priorities.
