Isaac Newton was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and natural philosopher who lived in the 17th century. One of his accomplishments was coming up with three laws of motion that can be used to explain how and why stuff move. These laws that Newton came up with are still used today.
Newton’s first law of motion states that “an object in motion will stay in motion, and an object at rest will stay at rest unless an unbalanced force acts on it”. An example of the first law of motion is if you are driving in your car at a very high speed and hit something, like a brick wall or a tree, the car will come to an instant stop, but you will keep moving forward. This is why cars have airbags, to protect
