Night was an extraordinary novel that comprises the tragedies and horrific life the author goes through under the atrocities of the Nazis. Night, has put together some of the excellent themes that can be compared and contrasted with the movie, American history X. Both the subjects share some common and opposite themes, that shows the human characteristic under different circumstances, which could be analysed. In the following paragraphs, I will put together the same and opposite themes that they share in terms of the overall outlay of the novel and the movie.

The Nazis separated men and women, kids and parents, and made them strip all of their clothes and valuable belongings. The face of brutality that served as demon to the millions of Jews has tormented their mental and physical ability to survive. Throwing babies into the fire, raping women, and starving people to death are unbearable and not tolerable. The purpose of all these barbarity is to get enormous power to rule the humanity and to torture the morality and tradition of other people. These kinds of enormity are seen all over the novel. But the Jews did not protest or raised their voice against the brutality towards them. On the other hand, the movie (American history X) also depicted the human nature of violence and torture in order to gain power. The natural criteria of takeover by minorities were the main reason that elevated the anger and frustration in the majority group. In the movie, the majority group explains clearly on how the minority took over the economic role play in the society, which led the majority (whites) to play an outrageous role in the community. “I hate anyone that isn 't white Protestant.” These are the words that came from the character – Danny
