Ongoing Wars: Not even a month after the 9/11 attack, the U.S sent troops to invade Afghanistan in an attempt to disassemble al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda was a terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack. The United States invaded Iraq 2 years later, in March 2003 and deposed President Saddam Hussein. The President was linked in directly to the attack but was suspected of producing weapons of mass destruction (Matthew, 2017). However, none were initially found but the invasion was key part of Americas newly launched war on terror which was under the presidency of George W. Bush.…
Part one Introduction How did crashing two planes into the worlds trade center, and one into the pentagon, one into a field in Pennsylvania cause the severe economic decline over the next several years? No Fly List, No Purchasing of Guns People that are currently on the terrorists watch “no fly” list are not able to purchase guns anymore. Ever since the San Bernardino shooting during the previous year, Obama has argued against what he thinks is an abnormally well-known anti-terrorism measure. “ Right now people on the no fly list can just walk into a store and buy a gun. That’s insane,” Obama says.…
The atrocities of 9/11 changed my life forever. No longer was I able to travel freely around the world; I was one of “them.” Time and time again, I would be stopped by an authority to go through secondary inspection, have my passport placed under scrutiny, or be pulled into an interrogation room where I would be questioned about dark-skinned men in pictures - did I know them - or my knowledge of bazookas. All because of my name. I appear to be your classic American, fair complexion and blue eyes, yet I would be detained over and over again, sometimes for hours, always ending with apologies from those who had stopped me.…
September 11th, 2001 is a day that will live in the collective nightmares in American history. It was the day that the twin towers fell. The towers fell because of a terrorist attack. A ton of things happened after this attack. Airport security changed a lot after the attacks on the twin towers and the TSA was made a bigger part of the everyday travel which is a very racist system in the Airport system.…

Four suicide attacks were targeted at important objects in the USA. One of the four planes was targeted at Pentagon, another crashed in the field of Pennsylvania, while the two remaining airliners were aimed to attack Twin Towers in New York. After this event, the war broke down that brought changes to the whole society in the USA.…
After the events of the Boston Marathon bombings, “findbostonbombers,” a subreddit on Reddit.com, was created. This subreddit focused on analyzing Flickr images, taken from surveillance cameras, of people standing near the finish line minutes before the bombs had exploded. In doing so, users accused multiple people of being the bomber solely on the fact that they wore a backpack or wore a backpack and had dark skin. Of the many suspects, the most famous was Sunil Tripathi. When the F.B.I. released surveillance photos of the two men they suspected to be the Boston bombers, users began to suspect that Tripathi was one of them.…
“The chances of finding a terrorist intent are as slim as finding a rare disease,” says Dr. Mendenhall (Stellin). This is true in any case, so everyone should be prepared if terrorists do attempt to attack. Though the use of x-ray machines are the easiest way to finding dangerous weapons that can lead terrorism, there are downsides to this convenient procedure. The machines needed are expensive, especially the quality ones, they’re not as effective as they may seem. Lastly, they present images of the passengers as if they were unclothed.…
When we are children we are taught not to judge a book by its cover, for most of us this is something we live by and practice. Recently, racial profiling has been a major topic in our national debates, and is affecting millions of people in the United States. Every day innocent people are being racially profiled by airport security and law enforcement by the color of their skin and nationality. Airport Security and Law Enforcement profile people based on their race, behavioral patterns and age. differ in profiling in who they target the most, the methods they use and the area when they profile.…
One time, in TSA, I had worked with two people I never knew existed. Their names were Ansch and Evan. I had been extremely shy and didn’t even want to work on the project. I would make up excuses to just leave and not go. I had hated it and wished to quit every day.…
The Real ID Act, which was sponsored by Representative Jerry Lewis and signed into law by the President on May 11, 2005, has set federal standards for the issuance of driver’s licenses and requires aliens to prove their "legal presence" in the United States (Thomas, HR 1268.) Its basic purpose is to ensure that state-issued licenses and IDs meet certain standards and requirements that the federal government sets before they will be considered valid. This piece of legislation has caused quite a bit of debate since its origination and passage into law. Some throughout the United States support this piece of legislation because they believe it will protect our country, as well as keep us out of harms way with regard to terrorism.…
Thousands died on 9/11; family members, friends, firefighters and police, either trying to save lives or even trying to save their own. Strict enforcements on airplane security has become more challenging/advanced ever since the twin towers were bombed on 9/11, til this day it is still a hard topic to talk about. Not only has strict enforcement been challenging/advanced it has become a very time consuming task for people trying to catch their plane, but people understand that it is for their safety. Transportation plays an important role in a community both socially and economically, unfortunately trad patroon is a suitable target for criminal mischievousness. Airplane security has improved in ways that does not put anyone’s life in danger since the 9/11 attack, it decreases any terrorist attacks, improves safety precautions, the advanced technology, and puts more people into jobs.…

Catastrophic and heartbreaking are the two words to represent the year of 2001 for many Americans. The 9/11 terrorist attacks caused major emotional, and economic impact around the globe. The American airline industry suffered significant economic and social loss, leaving major airline companies on the verge of bankruptcy. While most airline companies were financially and emotionally suffering, the Southwest airline appeared to be at its most successful and profitable period. Indeed, Southwest’s successful performance during difficult times makes many individuals wonder how the company was able to accomplish what it seemed unachievable by most carriers.…
