North American Nursing Diagnosis Association is NANDA. NANDA was originally 100 nurses in 1970 and has evolved into an International Association in 2002. NANDA’s role consists of generating, naming, and implementing nursing diagnostic categories. One of NANDAS primary goals is to have all nurses use nursing diagnosis in their practice. Every 2 years NANDA meets to generate, name, and implement nursing diagnostic categories, revisit taxonomy, publish approved diagnoses There are three types of nursing diagnostic statements to help individualize care plans for patients.
