Rockets have helped us explore and learn about the world we live in. We owe this thanks to a man in Auburn, Massachusetts, Robert Goddard. Mr. Goddard invented the first liquid-propellant rocket in 1926. People refer Mr. Goddard as one of the father of modern rockets era. Although Mr. Goddard was the first to introduce a …show more content…
They can be used in many forms, and each form has their unique role. Some example is how they are used for space travel, military uses, and entertaining purposes such as fireworks. Space travel is the most common one, because it gave us great knowledge about the planet system and universe, and also how we changed human history on July 21, 1969 by sending Apollo 11 into space and being the first to set foot on the moon. As for entertainment, miniature rockets can be lit and fly up in the sky and explode. As they explode many different colors merges, and some may form a …show more content…
The military uses rockets in many ways such as, missiles in air compact and under the seas, and also aircraft. Military missiles are rockets that propel themselves to hit their target. Rocket powered aircraft are rockets which human can control from the interior and are used in air compact. As we advance in technology, the rocket aircraft have also advanced. Aircraft designers have developed a rocket-powered plane, which was designed to break through the sound barrier. The Rocket powered aircraft was called Bell X-1, which was, flew by General Chuck Yeager. On October 14, 1947, General Yeager was the first man to break the sound barrier. By having rockets in the military, it made the army much stronger and more reliable.
Rockets also have scientific uses, such as satellites, weather, and communication. Rockets can launch satellites into space, and by doing so it gives us a new way to send information around the world. Satellites can be used for communication around the world, from planning military plans, to helping planes and ships navigate, and also can report weather conditions. The first satellite launched in space was called Sputnik by the Soviet Union in 1957. Without the invention of a rocket, we would never been able to send a satellite up in space. Now today, we have 2,271 satellites orbiting around
