One such claim is about reducing plastic bags in the market. Even though PepsiCo has reduced the usage of plastic in all their products, a large amount of plastic is still being used in manufacturing. The water being used in small and remote PepsiCo plants is not healthy as it contains dangerous chemicals which don’t get filtered. About 11 children in a school were taken to a hospital after drinking Pepsi in school. After the death of the 11 kids, a team of scientists experimented on the drink the kids drank and they found that the chemical in the drink was normal but the water used to make the drink had viruses. When Vaani Gupta, the marketing director of the company, was asked about the negative aspect of PepsiCo’s plans about environmental sustainability, she replied “Everything we do as individuals or corporations can affect the environment.
