It was July of 2013 when I went to a youth conference in Dallas, Texas. The camp was only a week, but it equipped me with motivation to last my entire life. That week, I encountered God for the first time and I immediately fell in love with a man named Jesus. The group of people who I once believed had everything I wanted to be, actually lacked the most important thing; God. My attitude completely changed. I noticed myself drifting, and I knew something had to be done. I applied for a local charter school in the middle of geometry class. I had my heart so set on leaving Byrnes that I literally forgot to tell my parents that I enrolled for High Point until they got my acceptance letter in the mail. Once i moved to high point, I became greatly influenced by the peers around me. My peers motivation to succeed was contagious.
