So far it is a lot different and way more work then I originally thought. I learned that as a personal training you have to know all about the body and its movements, this includes what muscles are worked with each exercise and why you have to so each exercise. I learned that to become a personal trainer you have to have in most places now an associate’s degree or even a bachelor’s degree in programs such as nutrition, health and fitness, exercise science or even physical education. I decided that I wanted to know even more about personal training so I went and interviewed one. The personal trainer that I interview, luckily for me, was my personal training teacher. My teacher’s name is Sally Layher. While I was doing the interview I learned that personal training is a lot of work I asked her what her favorite part about being a personal trainer? Sally said that her favorite part was being able to change people, and their lives for the better. I learned though as a personal trainer not only do you have to know your patients but you have to keep very detailed records on them so that you can see if they are improving any aspects of their lives. I also learned from Sally that to be a personal trainer you have to have very good communicational skills, in both verbal and writing. Another warning was that because personal trainers have to be certified, because the certification process only lasts 2 years they have to retake the certification test many times to continue to be a personal trainer. This test is fairly expensive, so if you are not making much having to recertify is not really something that you are happy to do.
I am really glad that I got the opportunity to do this report to investigate the person training career. In doing the research I learned that being a personal training I learned that personal trainers will be in high demand soon, and that they get paid a decent amount of money. I would get paid for doing exercise and helping people improve their lives. This has really helped me in deciding what I want to do when I get out of college. Even though I am still not sure exactly what I want to be personal training is definitely going to stay in the back of my
