In high school I was no longer a little girl. I was a teenager and with that came many obstacles. As a freshman athlete I knew that I was representing the school on a whole new level add that things were definitely going to change. Throughout high school, besides sports and band, new opportunities came along and with that came more challenges and more benefits. When I was a sophomore I earned and achieved the right to be in a select group of advanced students, also known as national honor society. National honor society is something that I dreamt of as a kid. To be in national honor society one must obtain a grade point average of ninety five or above and be selected by the person in charge of the national honor society group at your school. National honor society has given me the opportunity to reach to my community and help the less fortunate.it also has given me the opportunity to prove myself as an outstanding student. I consider4 myself to blessed to be a part of such an elite group of students. National Honor Society has given me more opportunities to not just discover who I am but what I 'm capable of. That’s what makes national honor society so incredible. During those times I realized that I am built for this. It was during the hard times that I thought about all of my failures in life. All the times I missed notes, missed baskets, or didn’t hit the ball over the net. More importantly I thought about my intentionality and purpose during those moments I realized that all of the little lessons I learned while participating in all of these activities would add up and lead to greater opportunities. Opportunities to improve, to learn, to grow, but more importantly to become a better person. I will work hard, I ell fail, but I will always get better. I will always learn from failure. That is how I learn, that is how I grow, that is how I will become the best I can
