Because of my experiences and the great teachers I had, I want to become the person who helps students achieve despite obstacles. I want to become a teacher and eventually a school administrator. I think experience as both a student and a teacher is essential to being a good administrator. I wanted to become a language instructor because I have a deep appreciation for languages and love learning them. I became interested in teaching English because I admire the literature, poetry and linguistic history of the English language. English is not my first language, but it has become my favorite language. Among world languages, English is uniquely flexible and succinct. A noun can be turned into an adjective or a verb, or vice-versa, without losing its expressiveness or beauty. I decided to go to the University of Regensburg for the academic year. In September, I will move to student housing in Regensburg and take a six week intensive German language course before classes start in October. I will enroll directly into classes in the university. I plan to take both German history, literature and culture classes taught in German as well as English literature courses. While in Germany, I’m also hoping to gain some experience teaching or tutoring in a foreign language. I have considered many options, such as offering to tutor other students studying abroad in Germany since some of the students traveling to Regensburg will be beginners in German, or tutoring some of the German students I’ll be studying with in
