Should Kids Have a Summer Break? For centuries kids have had most of the summer off. That time in between school some call heaven. For people that don’t know what heaven is its twelve weeks of break from school. During that time, kids can have fun, make memories with their families, and relax from loads of homework. Without that break between kids won’t be themselves. They won’t have time to make memories with their families, have fun, or relax. During the school year kids have homework almost every day. According to Michelle Cox, Children only have 18 years with their families until they are grown up. That’s only 18 summers it sure don’t seem like a long time. Not trying to tell people what to do, but families might want to start to bond with their families. It doesn’t matter if there have been bad memories make some good one from now on (Cox). Sometime some kids need to make memories, they need to bond with their families. Kids and teens also have to time some time away from the homework that teachers give them. According to Britsko, later on in life they will look at pictures or videos from when they were a kid. Some of the memories will allow them to remember the memories.
