The knowledge I have acquired whilst working towards my BA (hons) Education undergraduate degree has equipped me with the relevant academic understanding, practical skills and experiences needed to aid professional training. The course dealt extensively with ideas and research from a breath of social sciences. I have developed specific skills surrounding educational issues, equality and diversity, theories of learning, educational policies and practices, and a general knowledge of education in social, political and economic contexts. I was often required to work under pressure and therefore I recognised that strong organisation and action planning was essential to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Equally, effective communication was vital within this role as I was a point of contact for the parents and was often required to oversee a colleague’s work to ensure that the parent’s expectations were met.
