A health system pharmacist need to know his or her patient, be knowledgeable about medication dosage, drug interaction on both prescription and over the counter medications and so on.

They are more equipped to providing counselling, and evidence-based practices to improve the quality of life of patients. The pharmacist need to check for any medication or drug allergies and inform the patients accordingly. In addition to that, the patients should be advising to call for any common side effect and stop any medication and call 911 if any adverse reaction to drug occurs.
Pharmacist are expected to be caring, dedicated and wants the best for their patients. The main objective of a health system pharmacists is to improve the quality of life of patients. They are obligated to follow the code of ethics, and legal law abiding in their practices; develop drug therapy problems to be resolved with the aid of IESC.
