Because of Trump’s views on foreign policy, immigration, muslims, etc., he is popular with right wing Conservatives, particularly middle-aged / older white males. Trump is not only finding support in Conservatives, he is also finding support in a facebook group called “ Women for Donald Trump”, which as the name suggests, is a group of women that want to see Trump as our next president. In contrast, the other popular outsider candidate, Bernie Sanders, is much more popular with young voters then Donald Trump is. Bernie Sanders is also gaining momentum because of his social views, because contrary to his GOP (Grand Old Party) rival, Bernie Sanders is pro-choice, meaning he supports abortion. Along with this, Bernie Sanders is also a supporter of the LGBT community, or lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. Trump’s views are of course for aligned with Conservative America, meaning he wants to bring back lost jobs from China, Mexico, etc. He also wants to put a tariff (a tax) on all goods from China. In theory, this would reduce the trade deficit and make American goods more popular in American markets. Lastly, he wants to be rid of Obamacare, but he has not stated what he would replace Obamacare with. Bernie’s views are on the other hand may seem a bit outlandish, but still possible. Bernie Sanders, the self proclaimed “Democratic Socialist”, is a strong supporter of a $15 minimum wage, and he insists that $15 will be the new minimum wage if he gets elected into office. This would be welcomed news to a great many fast-food workers, many of whom believe they are paid too little, and can not survive off the current minimum wage. However, Bernie has his opponents to this idea, and many people believe if you raise the minimum wage, that would put millions of Americans out of work.
