There have been various laws that were established in order to protect privacy. One of these laws are Australia’s privacy principles ( APPs) which according to the Australian government these principles ‘regulate the handling of personal information by Australian government agencies and some private sector organizations’. The privacy act 1988 includes these privacy principles and the (APPs) consist of the gathering as well as the use of people’s personal information (Office of the Australian information commissioner n.d.). If the trespasser declines to leave then they are breaking the law and in this case the person can use sensible force without committing an assault. Different punishments are given to those who trespasses into a property without the consent of the owner and this is shown in the Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901 where any kind of illegal entry to a property will resort into penalties. A survey by Pew Research Center had discovered that American citizens place an important emphasis on their privacy and many feel that they are being surveillanced by the government and have little control over their privacy situation. The research also reveals that many of the people had lost their faith with regards to the protection of their privacy and personal information. Further, they feel that governments and agencies need to curb down their surveillance activities and it is vital for them to be able to keep their privacy during online activities.
