Based on Cantell’s 16 traits, Alfonso’s traits are easily upset, forthright, undisciplined, apprehensive; insecure, and sensitive. Alfonso’s traits are these because of how things are in his household. Since his dad is an alcoholic who beats up his wife, that instantly tells me that there is no discipline in the house, that Alfonso can get upset easily, and he is very sensitive to things because of the way he acts at school. Based on the Big Five Factor, Alfonso is 40% Openness, 13% Conscientious, 50% Extraversion, 8% Agreeableness, and 90% Neuroticism. The Big Five Factor is a good personality indicator because based on these percentages; it shows that he is rude and very temperamental. It all starts at home with how his dad treats his mom. His mom is rationalizing and repressing because she doesn’t want to justify the idea of why she is in this abusive relationship. Additionally, Alfonso lacks Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs because of the way he is treated at home and how he does not get the loving attention that he needs.
