How could they? China is still trying to get an apology. For example, “When Jiang Zemin, China's president, visited Tokyo in 1998, he publicly demanded, and failed to get, another apology from Japan for its past aggression,” (“Ghosts”). This is not the first time China has requested to get an apology and this will not be the last. China still remembers the people that were lost in those 6 weeks and has a remembrance grave with 300,000 printed on it. All China wants is for Japan to admit what they have done and Japan refuses, as stated above when it says they failed to get another apology.. Although it seems sporadic when China brings up the event of Nanking, they still want the world to know what happened and do not want it to be forgotten. When the article World Perceptions on the Rape of Nanking states “...desires the world to know about the largest single city massacre in the history of the world..” (“World”). In the article The Relationship Between Japanese And Chinese Economies it states “China and Japan also trade an estimated $350 billion worth of goods and services with each other annually. Even though they cannot socially get along there economics strive off of each other. 350 billion dollars would be a lot of trade money to lose if Japan can not say sorry. During this trade China imports the new technology Japan has created which helps China still be technical. But even though they still rely on each other for trade they have had some intense disputes between them. One example happened in 2010 and it was called the East Sea Dispute. This dispute escalated quickly. It all started when a Chinese fishing trawler went into the waters near Senkaku Islands. As said before this escalated quickly and intensely. For example when it says “The Japanese arrest of the captain and his extended detention prompted a strong reaction in China,” (Smith). This lead to China retaliating and capturing Japanese nationalist in China and arresting
