Other research has reported that students who participate in dynamic discussions had better course completion rates than failing students interacted less frequently. (Bilgnaut, Conje & Nagel,2007). It seems evident that not only does participation in discussions improve course completion, but also improves the students learning.
To addition to student learning through participation online it refers to cognitive learning and how students gain deep knowledge of the topics they are studying.
