In the classroom environment teachers need to practice multiple literacies visuals where we can convey messages and information through pictures. Digital we can gather websites and other digital resources for learning. Textual literacy analyze reading and writing and students can learn how to find and use information. Altogether with technological literacy for students to utilize various technology to communicate. When teaching reading grouping students is imperative. It should not just be limited to whole group reading instruction. I would recommend teachers to combine in their lesson strategies that will practice one on one, small group and work individually. Grouping students it is beneficial for them because students can discuss about books and summarize them. Students can have discussions, share projects, and self-evaluate. Teachers can assess students through observations and guided instruction. These strategies can be very beneficial for the students who are struggling.When educators make sure they keep a classroom where we can provide many opportunities for students to improve reading skills. “Teachers must be able to present their material, effectively manage their classrooms, facilitate maximum student involvement, and ultimately, enhance student learning. Although teaching well may be a difficult task, teachers have a number of resources at their disposal to help maximize their potential in the classroom” (Bolkan, S., & Goodboy, A. 2009). A literacy abundant classroom can facilitate students with the basic reading skills for development .We can have students in our classroom that can be exposed to vast literacy choices at home there is also students that may not have the same exposure to phonics, fluency, comprehension or vocabulary. That is where we have the opportunity to make the difference in our student’s lives and teach them to become better readers. Teachers these days have to face many challenges in the literacy classroom. We have to concentrate on a curriculum and standards as well as assessments. But teaching is also getting to know our students and looking for ways to help them improve their reading skills. Finding what interest them or motivate then to learn, background and culture. We have to find their uniqueness and the areas they can strive. They are all different some are good writers, speakers
