Tier one :( Unit 3 of MAR)
The first part of tier, tier 1 of unit 3 of MAR, was very easy to read and understand its main ideas while the second part is little-bit challenging. It has many unfamiliar words and long and complicated sentences and paragraphs. Since, overcome these challenges and to grasp the author’s main ideas, I allocated more time for making annotations and rereading those points.
I have used the following reading strategies.
Strategies used:
Before reading
Plan for the reading: Preparing reading material such dictionary and note paper and allocating appropriate time for reading,
The purpose for reading established: to get information and to strength my reading skills.

Nothing new will be used next time since the above strategies have worked best for me so far.
Tier three:
Tier 3 of unit 3 of MAR, is a research article about scalability and evolutionary of air transportation networks in USA. The text was easy for me to read and develope a clear idea of the text. In addition, Most of the terminologies used in this writing were not strange to me at all. Again, in this tier, I have used the same strategies I used earlier (strategies mentioned above). The only thing I did differently was that, since the article is a research article, I have read the abstract, that introduction and the conclusion chapter before I read the whole text.
Why I used the above strategies?
Again, all of the strategies I used during my reading were successful without any exception because the text was easy to understand.
Doing exercise after reading:
I went through the tasks given at the end of the tier and most of them were easy and a breeze. Consequently, I encountered almost no problem with all types of the exercises.
