I used my analysis skills in my works by doing thorough research on specific topics needed to support my papers and analyzing them carefully to find the information needed. I evaluate my works extensively when writing them to ensure I have well developed ideas and to correct any unseen mistakes. In my works, I use synthesis by reading multiple sources and connecting them to convey my point.
To attain the course objective of critical thinking, I used the practices of analysis and evaluation. I used the skill of critical thinking in my essay writing by bringing in examples from outside sources like “Ashputtle” and then analyzing them with my subject matter of the essay like “Walt Disney’s Cinderella” before making a statement. My strengths include hold on the subject, organization, and vocabulary. I have a strong hold on subject which basically means I research a lot of background information to write my essays backed by credible sources. This can be observed in “At the Whim of Authority” in the quote, “This can be supported by the Stanford Prison Experiment conducted by Dr. Phillip G. Zimbardo. In the experiment he had volunteers and split them into two groups which consisted of guards and prisoners. The prisoners were left under the control of the guards without any supervision. Within hours the guards started abusing the prisoners without any orders from any kind of authority” (4). Where I explain the details on the Zimbardo Experiment with good background knowledge. I organize my essays in a way that is appropriate and engaging to the reader. This can be noticed in “The Hudsucker Homeric Hero of Modern Day” where I organized the whole essay in a compare and contrast format, explaining background information. By organizing the essay in this format, it ensures that the reader is informed about background information beforehand and can be able to compare the similar elements.
