Public speaking has always been something that I had an extreme difficulty with. I had never enjoyed being forced in front of an audience to present material, whether in high school or for our SYKALAs. However, I am aware that is an import skill to have in and out of the workforce, so I made the executive decision to improve upon it. It was a bit rocky at first, during our retreat, but I mainly feel that is was purely due to being exposed to so many new people. As the weeks continued onward, I became more open with my students and they did the same, which allowed for a comfortable environment. I became fully able to lead a class and ultimately got over most of my fear of public speaking due to this opportunity of Facilitation. If there was ever a circumstance that felt need upper level or previous experience, Jena and I could always turn to the other 19 facilitators for guidance. Each one of them were both more than happy and willing to assist Jena and I in making our breakout better. If we ever need guidance beyond that, we also had another level of support, in that of Dr. Kaplan and General Trion for concern and issues with both our class and our students. Having this support system was and is very beneficial to having a productive learning atmosphere for the Honor freshman. It allows for all everyone to be accounted for and all problems to be addressed
