Vera demonstrates appropriate nonverbal communication skills with the clinician; which includes: appropriate eye contact, socially modulated gaze and appropriate facial expressions. She is able to produce and respond to questions and communicative prompts set forth by the clinician. Vera’s attention span, sitting behavior and compliance are good in the individual sessions. She can sustain attention for an appropriate amount of time as the work demands. However, she sometimes avoids the task by looking away, a verbal reminder or other prompts is often required to facilitate work flow. She benefits from working for reinforcement, and the token economy. The token economy usually works well in facilitating her attention and focus.
