The court grants only the powers necessary to provide for the needs of the ward, which is the protected person and property being taken care of and managed by the Guardian (Farlex, n.d.).
The Guardian’s responsibilities involve the ward’s care, comfort, and maintenance, for example, including food, clothing, shelter, health care, social and recreational requirements, training, education, habilitation or rehabilitation (The Office of the Revisor of Statutes, n.d.). The Guardian has the duty to provide maintenance of the ward’s clothing, furniture, personal effects, and if protection of property is required, the power to seek
