In this article a story is shared how a a young girl named Rocco who was 16 – years – old almost committed suicide more than once due to bullying. Rocco was tired of this bullying so she and her mother are preparing to sure the bullies and their parents. In this opinion article they believe parents should do their part, and bullying shouldn’t be accepted. They believe parents should raise their children but teach them some tolerance. The parents are to blame and should be held legally responsible. On the other hand, the other point of view in this article is a child specialist who states that being a parent is not easy and parent cannot always have control on what their kids are doing. Christian Taylor’s family claimed she was bullied in school before his suicide. There was a gathering at a church to remember Taylor and to find answers to his death. Research had been and a month before the Christian Science Monitor discover 10 teen suicides due to bullying in the past year. The media calls this “bullycide” being defined as people who kill themselves due to bullying. Not all victims commit suicide but suffer with low self-esteem, emotional and physical scars etc. Then this research article/event starts stating statistics how about one – third say they were bullied during the school year, 28 percent of middle schools and high school’s students report being bullied on campus. It also stated that about of 80,000 students only 31.5 percent stated where involved in bullying, 11.4 as the bully, and 12.7 who were the victims. It also talks about that bullies are more often males than females. This article talks about how bulling is grown up in a hold. Parents who use manipulation and shaming, and guilt can shape and model bullies’ behavior. This article also talks about how children who are traumatized by physical abuse in their home environment are most likely to bully.
