The range of factors is considered in making that determination including the right to control the manner in which the work is done, the method of payment, the right to discharge, the skill required, and who provided the materials, tools, and equipment.…

We are reducing our fair value estimate to $123 per share from $126, in response to the strong U.S. dollar, which reduces profits from the 50% of Cummins sales that come from outside the U.S. Additionally, headwinds at Cummins' key agriculture, mining, and construction customers appear to be increasing and translating into a slower 2016 sales outlook than we initially forecast. We expect that Cummins will produce $23 billion of midcycle revenue by 2019 as it expands its market share versus smaller rivals. Furthermore, we think Cummins will benefit from Navistar's decision to source Cummins engines on its heavy-duty trucks. We forecast 3% growth in unit volume for the five-year forecast period and expect that moderate price increases and a mix…

The documentary “Manufacturing Consent” outlines what the media chooses to display to the public as well as how it chooses to present this information in a way that has a targeted effect on the public. This fact alone has truly furthered my understanding as to how influential media is on everyday society, and has also enlightened me as to who funds these carefully structured messages thus allowing me to identify precisely who is attempting to sway my opinions. Chomsky effectively conveyed that the media operates on a set of ideologies that strongly rely on confidential information possessed by large corporations or the government. This has brought me to the realization that the public opinion is one that has been forged through our attachment to media and has broth forth several questions in my mind regarding previous situations.…

From the start of this simulation, we understood that we needed to analyze the limited data that was given to us. More specifically, we looked at the mean and standard deviation of demand for the first 50 days of the simulation. We did this by exporting the data from Littlefield into an Excel document and utilizing the AVG and STDEV functions within it. These functions gave us an average demand of 14.52 jobs per day, and a standard deviation of 4.17 jobs per day for the first 50 days. By comparing these numbers we realized that the standard deviation was nearly 30% of the average daily demand.…
