The network consists of 85 metro stations along with 176 KM. The metro network will cover most of the populated areas such as public facilities, the educational institutions, the commercial centers and the medical centers. In addition, definitely, the metro project will be connected to King Khalid International Airport as well as King Abdullah Financial District. In the end, the project will be of great benefit to Riyadh traffic, economy, society and environment. Each one is different from the other as defined in the competition documents. The first group includes access number one and two with length of 63.3 KM and 42 metro stations. The second group includes access number three with length of 40.7 and 21 metro stations while the third group includes access number four, five, and six with length of 31 KM and 32 metro stations (the High Commission fro the Development of Riyadh, 2014).
During the competition phase, the high commission for Development Riyadh has arranged a meeting between the supervision team and the competitive consortium in Sep, 2012. On the deadline day, Feb 20, 2013, for receiving the technical and financial bids for implementing the project, three consortiums have offered their tenders (the High Commission fro the Development of Riyadh, 2014).
Each consortium has submitted its tender in two separated envelopes. The first was for technical documents and the other was for financial documents. All bids have been reviewed and evaluated in terms of meeting the conditions and the specifications(the High Commission fro the Development of Riyadh, 2014).
