The job role of being a Crane Operator consists of using lifting machinery in order to move loads that are too heavy to be lifted manually. To be a Crane Operator you need to have the correct training that enables you to take on the job role. This will be inductions to the machinery that is going to be used along with the techniques used to do so. If the job that requires a crane to be used isn’t carried out correctly then it can make the job dangerous as it will increase the risk of injury due to the procedure not being done correctly. It is vital that correct equipment is used for the job to lower the chance of a dangerous encounter along with the operator having the required training before starting the job.

Along with this methods are used to attempt to remove all loud noises, this can be done by redesigning the work place and or reorganising working patterns. While being a crane operator you need to have full concentration as you have the chance to put others in danger, therefore if exposed to excessive noise it may cause you to lose concentration. Along with this it can also harm the employee long term as for the noise being so loud it may cause hearing loss. To prevent any harm to the employee they should be gave hearing protection, having noise cancelled out while working as a crane operator isn’t a problem as you can communicate instructions via hand signals therefore you can keep your focus on what you’re doing without having off-putting background
