Union station is also designed to look like the ancient Roman Baths of Diocletian, which can give off positive and joyous energy, which is felt at Union station. This feeling can be found a Union station because people going places and arriving places can be something that is enjoyed. Some might argue that traveling places can be not pleasant, but it’s not the people who give off the energy, it’s the place itself and what it is used for. Next, The Capitol building can provide the same type of energy as the Roman Pantheon. The Roman Pantheon was for praising the gods, and it had a strong and powerful feel because of the connection it had with the Roman gods. This sense of strength and power can be detected at the Capitol building because the Capitol is a government center where powerful people reside, and where strong topics are discussed and strong decisions are made. The types of energy are mirrored because the buildings that are built similarly, and were for similar uses. This can imply that the buildings would give off the same type of feeling to the people who go in it. The planned city idea is replicated throughout Washington DC, which was also done in Ancient Rome. This caused the cities to be organized and consist of relatable structures, and to be comparable when viewing them together. Next, the architecture in Ancient Rome was robust and powerful and the same ideas have continued in Washington DC today. As a result, this caused many architectural features to be seen with a deeper meaning, which was seen in ancient Rome too. Today, we can see that cities reflect others ideas.
