The Greek as well as the Roman mythology is the world full of Gods, demigods, deities, heroes fighting monsters to bring about stability in the world . Both the polytheistic cultures have a very rich picture of their respective “myths” though they have many similarities that they have adopted from their neighbors such as the gods and the monsters though the names differ between the two . It is believed that the Greek mythology came earlier than the Roman mythology. Though there are many differences between the two mythologies there are a number of similarities such as the Gods, the monsters, worship and the demi-gods.

Their off springs were known as demi-gods. There were numerous demi-gods in the Greek mythology as compared to the Roman mythology. Furthermore, the heroes in Greek mythology are well known as compared to Roman mythology probably because the Greek had a more widespread influence. Some of the well-known demi-gods are Hercules, Achilles. Perseus, Jason, etc. while the Roman demigods include Heracles (Hercules), Atalanta, Theseus, etc. the Romans even adapted some of the heroes from Greek mythology. Thus, there isn’t much of a similarity in regards to the offsprings of the Gods between the two myths.
In conclusion, there are a lot of differences between the Greek mythology and the Roman mythology in regards to creation, the influence, names, off springs, and importance. This is because the Greeks formulated the myths to explain the happenings in the environment but when the Romans adopted the myths they modified it to suit their culture and thoughts.
