Ronald Reagan was the 40th President of the United states. Through his life he accomplished many great feats. Ronald Reagan was a man that was truly talented in many different aspects. He was involved in many different platforms as an actor, governor, and finally a president. As an actor he worked as president of the Screen Actor’s Guild. There he met Nancy (Davis) Reagan, his future wife. Throughout his entire career as an actor he appeared in more than 50 films. Soon after his acting career ended he stepped into politics and was eventually elected as Governor of California. He was able to maintain that position for two terms. Beginning in 1980, Reagan ran for the U.S presidency and won for two terms. He ultimately became an icon in the eyes of conservatives. His establishment of conservative principles left a lasting mark on the nation that has continued for decades after his presidency. His term brought a prosperity into the homes of Americans by maintaining the goal of achieving “peace through strength” in his country. During his presidency he enacted many policies that had were revolutionary. He used his skills of oratory and his appealing personable style to present his many game changing policies. Those policies have even been credited with being a huge contribution to the end of Soviet communism. After his term he stayed involved in the political world. Towards the end of his life he suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, and ultimately passed on June 5th, 2004.

Eureka College was known a “liberal arts” school that focused and taught a liberal prospective to its students. This way of thinking effected the way Reagan thought as young man. Upon being accepted, Reagan attended Eureka College on an athletic scholarship. Regan decided to major in sociology and economics. Soon after attending Reagan became a member of the Tau kappa Epsilon fraternity. While in college he was involved in many different sports. He played football, ran track, and captained the swim team. As a student he was more interested in sport and performing than academics. While in College he was described as “indifferent” when it concerned his studies. Even though academics wasn’t his main focus he maintained his grades and graduated with a C grade. It was his goal during his years at college to not just earn a degree but thrive as an athlete and performer. Aside from being involved in athletics he was also dedicated to performing. He acted in many productions while he was a student at Eureka and was active in the drama society. He gained popularity as an athlete, political voice, and performer and was elected as student council president his senior year. He was known in the college for leading a revolt against the college president after the president decided cut back on faculty at the school.
