All the different cells in a multi cell storm are at different stages of their life cycle that connect with one another to make a cluster of storms. Multi cell storms last longer than single celled storms by about double the time 30-60 minutes. As a multi cell is forming, new forming cells will start at the back of the cluster, with mature ones in the middle, and the weakening stage at the front. The weather that comes with these multi celled storms is more severe than a single cell storm, but not as much as a supercell. Small sized hail, flash floods and even weak tornadoes can occur.
