Some students consider school as an escape from the harsh realities they face in the outside world. School is also the only opportunity some students have for reaching their goals and having their dreams fulfilled. Nonetheless, it is tremendously important that schools are providing every single student with the best opportunities possible to help and ensure their successes. No school is perfect, but by analyzing and criticizing Concord Middle School’s goals and goal plans and curriculum, they are a step closer to greatness. Also while evaluating how Concord Middle School manages culture, socialization, and equity, there was some evidence that proved that the school had its flaws but it has showed every effort in moving forward.…
Little Rock, Arkansas - The Central High School of Little Rock accepted nine negroes students on Wednesday, September 4th. This was Central High’s first day. Mobs of white students were gathered in the entrance of the school, as well as National Guard troops. The students were throwing very racial slurs.…
Valley High School has been such a huge part of my life. I will always remember the great times here with friends and family and like all good stories they all must come to an end. Valley has kept me motivated to keep learning and keeps pushing me to my limit. I will never forget from where I came from and the life lessons I have learned here. Valley High School is very important to me and its values will stick with me wherever I go.…
Liberty High School... Healthy or not. This year I have been looking deeper into how we can improve the food we provide in the schools of America specifically liberty High school. Everybody knows that obesity is on the rise and if we are to stop it we have to start with the food we put into our body's. People are aware but don’t quite understand the severity of obesity.…
Changing food at Liberty High School Parents of Liberty High School students, do you wish for your children to live long happy lives? Those of you who said no should not be parents; however, those who said yes please consider the facts. Obesity in the United States is one of the most widespread health issues we have and it is becoming especially prevalent in child and teenage populations. Obesity causes a wide range of health problems, from a lack of energy to just plain death from cholesterol blocking your heart valves. Of course we alone cannot solve the issue on the national scale, but we do have the power to keep it from becoming an issue at our school.…
This personal narrative is going to be about the first day of Middle School and my experiences as a 6th grader. It is going to go after my emotions and other descriptive details of the first day. I still remember how the seat belt felt tightening across my chest as the car got closer to the Middle School. During that time I knew nothing about being in a big school because the biggest school i've been in was yankee ridge. (Which is really small).…
I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…
Just as I had finally found a few friends as the year ended at my school, I learned that I would be new once again; my family was moving to a different school district. After a disastrous first year - lonely and disappointing - at my previous school, I was presented with a chance to start again. I was terrified. The task of fitting into yet another new school was impossible, and yet that small voice in the back of my head seemed to think the opposite. Hopes of new friends, new possibilities, new opportunities, were spread, tantalizing, before me.…
Jonathan Majano 10/14/2014 Mr. Lewis Chemistry 3Y Hello my dearest grandchild. It appears that my life is coming to an end and I’ve never knew I had a grandson. I have been through a lot.…
“Dang, this asian can really play.” “Even if this guy had slanted eyes he can still see though.” “Man, I shouldn’t have underestimated this kid.” It all started in Middle School, the 8th grade. Co-ed Tennis was available to try-out, so I decided to sign-up because I looked up to my older brother in which he plays Junior Varsity at the EKHS.…
As an only child growing up in Clarence, Iowa, I at most times found myself playing alone in my backyard or sitting in front of my television, watching whatever we had on VCR. DVD players had already been out for years at that time, but with my father working as a mechanic in some random guy's garage, we could not afford to buy a DVD player. I had to resort to VHS tapes, but at least my mother would take me to the used game store(which also sold VHS tapes and DVDs)every once in a while. I became addicted to owning VHS tapes, even as a six year old boy and honestly, I still am to this day. My favorites were the movies from Tim Burton and the Disney films were my absolute favorites; I just could not get enough of Toy Story and The Lion King.…
Middle school is an inevitable phase of many of our lives. It is also a very memorable time- for both good and bad reasons. Yet, we all somehow manage to strive through no matter how tough the year gets. For me, at first, none of the typical horrifying middle school stereotypes fit how my sixth grade year was going. I had plenty of friends, understood my classes, and I didn’t appear to be too awkward.…
Fifth grade is a cardinal year; an important milestone in everyone’s life, especially mine. With the first day approaching, and the warm summer of 2009 coming to a close, many of my peers were bursting from the seams with excitement as well as harmless cockiness; we had earned our positions as the top dogs at Pineville Elementary! With my fresh, glossy folders and binders and notebooks, and an outfit I picked out all by myself ready to go, I assured my mom she didn't have to walk me to my class on the first day. Being a fifth grader now, I couldn't have my mom embarrassing me; she did, however, steal a few quick pictures of me walking into the school. As eager as I felt about being an almost-middle-schooler, fifth grade meant something else to me.…

Sixth grade is like the first bite of the cake. You're excited to taste the first bite, but nervous that you might not like the taste of it. Sixth grade taught me many things, but it’s mainly taught me to go for it, to just do it, and don't be shy. That led me to signing up for leadership and eventually standing in front of the whole school dancing and acting. I’ve made some extraordinary and loyal friends that I know I will never forget or lose, and who will always be held close to my…
