The Police are described as the civil force of either a national or a local governed mandated to prevent and detect crime and maintain public order. The institution of Police is tasked with making a number of decisions, and it is their duty to address actions that were not supposed to be taken (Klamh and Tillyer, 2010). The aim of this paper is to discuss the social purpose of the police, the reasons why we need them, and what they represent, what we expect from them and how to handle duties assigned to them.
