It is rare that these will leave any lasting marks on the person other than on the bone which much like stress fractures is just marked in a faint white line on an x-ray or sometimes it does not show a mark where the bone is broken at all. The most common of the spiral fracture locations in the foot is the unlucky pinky toe. This is likely because with a loss of leverage which is also a major cause of spiral fractures because with a fall people tend to roll to the outer part to catch themselves. Very rarely does one roll their foot inwards with a loss of balance or an accelarating force which would cause the big toe to recieve the spiral fracture. Spiral fractures are typically treated by restricting demanding activities and by keeping the injured part stablized and not overworked in anyway.
