The squid moves using jet propulsion and its fins. Jet propulsion is where water is pulled into the squid's body using one way valves, then pushes it forcefully back out to move backwards. The fins in the top of the body are used to move forward during an attack. Speaking of attacks, they have 8 tentacles and 2 arms, both with suction cups on them. During the attack, the squid forms a cone shape while creeping up to their prey, then it opens the 8 tentacles with the 2 arms quickly coming out and grabbing the prey, with the suction cups for holding and gripping. These squids live in deep ocean waters, down to 3,000 feet below the surface, with low oxygen. Since they live very deep waters, the squid have very few predators and if one comes in contact with a predator, it uses its ink sac to expel ink for escaping. The squid is a well survived organism using these adaptations along with reproduction and eating
