They are to illustrate one event and label the event choosing clue words beginning, middle, and ending of the story. Students will be able to recognize clue words like, first, next, then and finally to help figure out the sequence. Students will be able to write the beginning, middle, and ending of a story.
Role: Students will work with their team. They will use prompts using retelling cards to guide beginning, middle, and end of story. Students will use sequence signal words first, next, then, last and finally. The students are expected to express retelling verbally and write clearly in well-structured sentences.
Product: The performance challenge of the completion and the intended outcome, students will be able to recite the beginning, middle and ending of a story. They will be able to write a story in sequence order, and be able to give a class presentation of their work to the class. In the end of the lessson each student will display their portfolios for the group to read and observe their work.
