The top management, managers and employees of a company must be able to be aware of what are the aspects that make their company better than the competition. According to Armstrong, G., & Kotler, P. (2015), “strengths include internal capabilities, resources, and positive situational factors that may help the company serve and achieve its objectives” (p. 54-55). So, in order to identify the strengths of my organization the following questions must be addressed: (1) What do we do well? (2) Is my organization known for doing a better job compare to the competition? (3) What positive factors add value to my organization?
What do we do well?. My organization’s mission is to provide great customers service and provide services that fit wants and needs of the American society in Japan. We provide programs, events and services that our customers might not find off base due to the language barriers. Political Factors. New laws and governmental regulations will affect our business procedures and services directly, since our organization is budgeted by the government.
Economy. If there are not many jobs available, our families spend less in leisure and entertainment; our programs and events such as fitness events, personal training, spa services, nutrition briefs and fairs are not a survival necessity to the public so, customers will request services only if it is adorable and do not represent a big expense for their budget. So, if the economy struggles, our business will be severity affected.
Private Business. Businesses outside our military base always will represent a thread even though the language barrier works a favor of my organization.
