Consider how great of a presence water has in this story. For instance, when Percy is playing capture the flag and he gets into a fight with Clarisse, after he gets beat up pretty bad, he crawls over to the river, and it immediately starts to heal him. He had to find out that everything he knew was a lie in order to discover what his true purpose in life was. I connected with this because when I was in 3rd grade, my parents got divorced. At first I was completely shocked. I was so used to having both my parents in the same house, I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that my dad wasn’t going to be living with us anymore. However, after a little while, I actually started to do better in school than I had when my dad was still living with us. That made me realize that maybe it was for the best my parents weren’t together. The novel The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan is a fantastic novel for readers that like mythological stories. I would recommend this book for people like weird and unexplainable mixed with a little violence . If certain readers are in to these kinds of books, this book would be a very good choice. They will pick the book up and not be able to put it down for hours. They will just want to indulge themselves in the exciting plotline that Riordan has created. I haven’t read any of his other books, but this book definitely gets an A+ from
