Schizophrenia is a chronic and disabling mental illness. It affects men and women equally. Schizophrenia symptoms start at age 16 to 30.But most of the time after age 45.
Symptoms of schizophrenia can be described in two categories: positive symptoms that reflect on distortion of normal functioning and negative symptoms that reflect on reduction of normal functioning.

Finally, people with delusions of persecution believe someone wants to harm or kill them or their neighbour is spying on them.
Second positive symptom of schizophrenia is hallucination in which person sees or hears something that isn’t there.
The last positive symptom of Schizophrenia is disorganized speech and behaviour. People with that symptom make up a word that doesn’t exist. They tend to jump from one topic to another before the first is fully realized. They also have disorganized behavior. They will tell they are sad but they laugh. Or they wear gloves and thick clothing in the middle of summer.
Negative symptoms of schizophrenia are lack of important abilities. People with Schizophrenia don’t talk a lot. They have lack of motivation and don’t leave the house because they don’t want to engage in social activities.
