God redeemed the people of Israel through the exodus from Egypt and declares so before he gives delivers the law through Moses in Exodus 20:2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” The importance of God stating that he is their God is the declaration that they are his people. God has made the Israelites his people as he promised Abraham, his descendants will be blessed by the Commandments handed down from God. These commandments are a way that the Israelites may be blessed by obeying God’s word as Adam and Eve were intended to do in the garden (Roberts, 2002). It is through the Holy Spirit that Peter gains the courage to boldly speak of Christ in the face of possible severe punishment “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them…by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead by him this man is standing before you well” (Acts 4:9-10). After being threatened against speaking about Jesus, Peter and John are released and continue proclaim the words of Jesus. This passage shows we cannot claim to posses the Holy Spirit if we do not spread the word of Jesus (Roberts, 2002). The growth of the church of Jesus fulfils prophecy of the bible by bringing others to know God and become his people (Vanhoozer,Treier, & Wright, 2008). The book Theological interpretation of the New Testament: A book-by-book survey shows the book of Acts shows a theme of spreading the word of God to bring salvation to Gentiles and Jewish alike. God wants all man to be saved and we shall through faith and the coming of the new kingdom
New Creation The grand conclusion to the Bible is the book of revelations. The book ends the story where Genesis began. God brings about the end of the old heaven and earth and brings a new kingdom. The new kingdom is described by the author of revelations, “I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed
