This work by Paola Macias as previously stated consists of fourteen embossed paper panel, each pair of panels with the same sentence being placed one above the other, creating a horizontal row that is read from left to right and which covers the majority of the wall. Although the main differences between this two works is the media and the use of color of the works. Dominguez’s being a life drawing painting and therefore using different colors, instead of the almost monochromatic palette which Macias’s used in her print. Comparing these two works of art a similarity that ties both works is the subject of abuse, while some viewers might argue that Dominguez’s work does not necessarily depicts abuse, it’s the title of the work The Deepest Secrets which reinforces the subject of abuse, which as previously mentioned is something that victims some times keep as a secret. Another difference is the way the subject is approached, in the case of Dominquez work she depicted the bruises and cuts in the knees suggesting the physical abuse. While Macias’s print shows throughout the use of words and the detail of the handprints the psychological side of the abuse. When finding two works which subjects are the same although with different approaches in the same exhibition, it shows that it’s a subject which people should be talking
