However, The Direct Method was considered a weak teaching method to be applied in schools because of many reasons. First, it depends on the communication skills mainly no attention is paid to writing and reading activities .Secondly, much time, effort and energy are wasted in addition to illustrate the meaning of many abstract vocabularies in (L2) to not translate in (L1) .The method meets a great achievement in the schools of learning languages as Berlitz until these days because the classes consist of small groups of students but in larger classes, this method is not properly applied and teaching in this method wouldn’t meet the needs of each student in large classes. This Method was developed by Georgi Lazanov, who believes that human brain could absorb huge quantities of information and knowledge without any effort when both: brain and body are relaxed. This method differs from other methods in many things; the main characteristics of suggestopedia are the decoration, furniture, comfy armchairs, the use of music, the arrangement of the classroom. It’s like you are sitting in a living room rather than a classroom.
